How Does It Work?
Onolytics is based on a proprietary algorithm and the result of over 4 years of scholarly research by Prof. Pablo Mateos. Onolytics contains a large database of the most common surnames and first names in the world, their frequencies by geographical area and the most likely ethnic origin.
These were carefully compiled and analyzed using publicly-available data from a variety of sources like, census records, telephone directories, electoral registers, and name frequency statistics from civil registers.
Onolytics algorithm distinguishes as many as 185 different ethnic groups, based solely on a person’s their first and surname, with an extremely high degree of accuracy. External academic evaluations have demonstrated its validity in a wide range of applications across the world
We’ve taken the guesswork out of the equation, and substituted it with a neutral and repeatable automatic process.
